We had a perfect little Fish and Chip shop, right down in the village. It was amazing. Cooked fresh, nice and crispy, big portions and well priced.
We didn't go anywhere else, why would we?

Unfortunately the inevitable happened. An oil fire burnt the place down and it seems the rebuild costs took a toll which led to a change in quality and eventually management. After trying it again for months to support them out of the rut they were in, we discovered one little thing. Their Fish and Chips were no longer crispy, they were soggy by the time we got them home. The portion sizes were reduced. The price had gone up. We tried again and again, wishing it was just a mistake, a one time thing, a bad Fry-Day, a bad dream
After a few more tries my wife put her foot down and told me to sort it out. To find another place. She wasn't going to eat another soggy Fish and Chips and it was either her, or the Fish and Chips that had to go.
I'm guessing a marriage is more important than a good Fish and Chips (so Google, Bing, Ask, Duckduckgo all keep telling me when I ask...though I'm sure Joey from Friends would side with me, but since he's been off air for over a decade, and he's not real, he probably can't help me win this one....:( ).
I had to find a new Chippy, if only for the sake of the children.
